Year New Science: Arezzo Science Lab

Arezzo Science Lab , the latest project of the Gudo d’Arezzo Foundation and the cultural association Lab carried out in collaboration with the Feltrinelli Point bookstore on Via Garibaldi, will debut in the city from February 2023.

In fact, the festival will officially begin on February 4, and scheduled are a series of science-themed theater performances during which guests of great international prominence and prestige will share their knowledge on stage in the form of a theatrical monologue, dealing with complex topics such as physics, mathematics , botany and architecture with a form, that of theater, which allows even the most complicated subject matter to be pleasantly conveyed.

The desire of the organizers is to create a recurring event, which each year can place itself at the top of the list of popularization events at the national level, giving new luster to our beautiful city with an exceptional cultural attraction.

The program of Arezzo Science Lab

Artificial Intelligence and the World of Tomorrow

Arezzo Science Lab will officially begin on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at 9 p.m., when at the magnificent Teatro Petrarca one of Italy’s best-known and most respected popularizers, Professor Piergiorgio Odifreddi-important logician and mathematician-will tell us about the potential and limits of artificial intelligence, a technology that is spreading like wildfire in so many areas.

Jung and Pauli: psychoanalysis and quantization

This will be followed on Saturday, March 4 , also at 9 p.m., by Gabriella Greison – the “woman of Italian popularized physics” – with a show on the relationship between Jung and Pauli. Greison , a theoretical physicist and author of several scientific publications worldwide , is according to Corriere della sera “the Rock Star of Physics,” an exceptional talent for an unmissable event.

The third evening will be held on Saturday, April 1 , again at Teatro Piero Aretino at 9 p.m., when Professor Paolo Zellini – a successful author published by Adelphi and an international lecturer – will entertain us with a monologue on the origins of mathematics and the concept of discrete and continuous in its history. Professor Zellini is full professor of Numerical Analysis at the University of Tor Vergata, and has numerous successful publications behind him: among the latest “The Mathematics of the Gods and the Algorithms of Men”published by Adelphi.

The Space-Time at the Arezzo Science Lab

For the fourth evening we will have to wait until May 6. At the Peter Aretine Theater, also at 9 p.m., Professor Guido Tonelli will give a monologue-lecture on astrophysics and the concept of space-time. Prof. Tonelli is an internationally renowned physicist, and he participated, including assuming the role of spokesperson, in the CERN Geneva “Compact Muon Solenoid” experiment, one of the two international experiments by which the Higgs boson was discovered. Tonelli also received the international Fundamental Physics Prize, the Enrico Fermi Prize and the Medal of Honor from the President of the Italian Republic.

The Plant Intelligence

The fifth event will be held on June 10, at the Petrarch Theater and again at 9 p.m. Professor Stefano Mancuso will introduce us to the wonders of the plant world and explain how plant intelligence works. Mancuso is a world-renowned scientist , a university professor listed by the New Yorker as one of the “World Changers.” He has won several prestigious awards, including the National Disclosure Award and the Book of the Year Award from the Austrian Ministry of Research and Economics.
